a Duke gardens engagement session

Every session looks different because every one of you has your own distinct personality & that’s what makes you human. My photography is rooted in connection. I’m not just showing up and taking your picture. I learn who you are as individuals + as a couple, your story, your style, and from there, I paint a picture that is carefully curated to align with your essence. Most of the scenes I set up are of you and your partner being in a moment - looking at each other, admiring something beautiful around you, connecting over laughter & play, & just to check everything off we get a small handful of direct looking at the camera shots. I usually save those for the end once I’ve made you move around a bunch and all the nerves have been shaken out. It’ll feel fun but also kind of like you just did a workout lol.

Here’s usually how a booking looks like from the beginning to end:

  1. Introduction - You reach out & I get to hear your vision

  2. Schedule a Date & Time

  3. Location Brainstorming - I offer 3+ location ideas based on what you align with

  4. Contract - we sign a contract to finalize our session

  5. Style guide - We work on outfits

  6. Questionnaire - I send a 5 minute questionnaire to hear about you both & your story

  7. Pinterest - If you have a pinterest board, I ask you to share it so I can see your inspo

  8. session intro - I’m silly & chatty but aware of energy so if you prefer a low energy environment, I’ll go with your flow

  9. Session

  10. Package delivery

There’s a lot of collaboration during my shoots. I talk a looot! I try to make you both feel confident and although I want you to be in the moment - I won’t leave you feeling alone & unsure of what to do next. I guide you with prompts and natural poses, By the end, almost every guy says that it was more comfortable, easier, and more fun than he expected. So no stress. It’s about having fun, being yourself, & Making art together.
